Did you know not all makeup is Gluten-free? I know to some of you this might not matter but to someone who has Celiac disease or allergic to wheat/gluten this can be a serious thing. I know you aren't ingesting makeup but did you know your skin is your largest organ? To me it makes sense that applying something topically to your skin can affect your overall health if an ingredient in the product is one you are allergic to or told to avoid because of having a medical condition like Celiac disease.
I don't generally wear a ton of makeup and I am by no means a make up artist. I wanted to share some of my favorite everyday makeup essentials that I use. All of the items I use are gluten-free. Just an FYI to keep in mind companies often change their formulas so please reach out to each company to verify they are gluten-free.
I recently just switched brands from BareMinerals to It Cosmetics. What I like about both of these is that they have sunscreen in them which is something we all need. Also a little bit of product goes a long way, which really provides a good all day coverage. These are both Liquid foundations and I typically buy them at Ulta or Sephora.
I love my hazel-green eyes and I feel like I want to showcase them. My new favorite Mascara is from a company called Too Faced Cosmetics. The mascara is called Better than Sex Mascara (which kinda makes me giggle like a little kid every time I say it out loud). What I like about this Mascara is that it really makes my eyelashes look more full and longer lashes. It really lasts all day! I did have trouble removing the waterproof one (light blue bottle), but I can say this one (pink bottle) I haven't had any trouble removing or even smudging if I happen to cry. What I like about this mascara is that it comes in a travel size and full size. So if you want to try it out you can buy it for half the price in the travel size. Typically I buy it directly at Too Faced but it is also sold at Sephora and Ulta.
Everyone has their own favorite brands and colors of lipstick but I really love the Melted Lipstick from Too Faced Cosmetics. According to their site with Melted you get the "power of a stain and the intense color of a liquid lipstick in one Long-wear formula". I feel like that statement is very true for this product line. I have several colors but my favorite is called Melted Chocolate Milkshake.
To finish off my look I do a quick thin layer of It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Finishing Powder. This powder helps seal in the foundation and reduce the shine on your face. Sometimes if I am in a hurry I skip the foundation and use the Finishing Powder instead.
What is the one Makeup essential you can't live without?
