What is the Disneyland Buddy Pass? | Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!

The Buddy Pass for the Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue attraction at Disney California Adventure Park can help save your group a ton of time waiting in line if eligible.

The Buddy Pass is only available for the Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue attraction in Disney California Adventure Park. It is a way for Disney to quickly fill empty rows and keep the line moving. Think of it similar to the single rider lines but you can go with a friend.

Ask the cast member at the queue entrance if you are eligible. If you are eligible the cast member will give you a paper card which you will take with you and proceed to the left which is actually the exit of the attraction. Then another cast member will direct you were to stand (typically against the wall) and will call you when they need to fill an empty row.

To be eligible you need to be a small group of 1-2 people. Special seating requests not available (example if you request to sit in a certain row). Subject to availability.

Toy story Midway Mania is testing a similar pass, but it is called Moving Buddy.

Just like the single rider line there is no guarantee you will get on the attraction any faster and on busy days they might not have the Buddy Pass available. On my last solo trip my personal experience is that I did get on sooner than my previous visits when I waited in the regular queue. One downside to the Buddy Pass is that you miss out on all the cool wall decor and hidden Mickey's that are in the regular queue.

So far these are the only two attractions in Disney California Adventure Park that offers this type of pass. To the best of my knowledge at this time the Disneyland Park side doesn't yet have this particular pass on any of the attractions.

Special thanks to my friend Shantelle over at DisneylandTourGuide for telling me about this option and lending me the Monsters Inc. photo to use in this article. Definitely check her out on Instagram, she is always sharing the best Disneyland Tips & Tricks!
